HERE ARE SOME FIRE PREVENTION TIPS AND IDEAS TO PRACTICE AND TALK ABOUT...

1.) Draw out a floor plan of your home and decide two escape routes out of every room!

2.) Talk about, and practice, ways to get out of peer pressure situations that involve starting fires. Just say no, and walk away!

3.) Keep an eye out for anything that looks hot or smells like it is burning. Many times, fires can be prevented by doing nothing more than using our senses!

4.) Make sure you install and maintain smoke detectors on every floor of your home. You must also check them frequently! Change your smoke detector batteries every time you change your clock!

5.) If you are ever caught in a fire, remember to STAY LOW ! Smoke rises so the cooler and easier to breathe air is near the floor.

6.) Keep matches, lighters, and all flammable fluids locked up and well out of the reach of young hands.

And remember
Smokey the bear is watching!!!

* Thousands of kids are hurt or killed every year in fires...following good fire prevention guidelines will keep that from happening in our community!
